Marlene was a special person. Her courage and indomitable spirit in the face of cancer were truly  remarkable. She was diagnosed with terminal neuroendocrine cancer in 2004, then in 2013 she was found to have an aggressive type of leukaemia caused by her treatment. The way in which she endured all of this was a testament to hope and to the human spirit. Sadly, she died on November 11th 2014 aged 65.

It doesn't end here.

Marlene was always thinking of others despite what she was going through herself. As a fitting legacy we have set up a tribute fund in her memory at The Christie where she was a patient for a decade. All donations will go into the fund to do what Marlene wanted and help people with cancer.
